Physicians attending the American College of Physicians 2014 conference in Orlando, Florida, had a chance to question the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) about the controversial issue of maintenance of certification (MOC). A popular question involved where ABIM spent the revenue it obtains from physicians' MOC fees. ABIM supplied the breakdown below.

Very important is that not ONE penny goes to EDUCATION of physicians. Research is probably the money spent to produce all those articles in ABIM journals that Proove there is an association between MOC and quality-bet never PROOF there is a causal relationship. This data comes from the ABIM so evaluate the information based on the source! Not worth much. How does any of that improve care or quality-It DOES NOT!
